Njasunyers had just walked 12 miles with her camels to get water
at one of the few wells in her territory. The well, five feet in
diameter and 60 feet deep, requires nine people standing inside
the well on ledges -- one above the other -- to pass the water up
to the surface. Although only seven years old, Njasunyers makes
the journey three times a week carrying water back to her family
in several one-gallon gourds. Samburu Tribe
